What is a Labyrinth?

The labyrinth is a beautiful earth sanctuary and a transformational tool that brings spirit and earth together through a physical, grounded experience.

Stepping into the labyrinth is moving into ritual space where the inner and outer worlds get connected in an intensified experience. It is where insight, inspiration and information about a question or theme you are working on can emerge, accessed in another way.

The labyrinth may be a simple walking meditation or deepen into a spiritual pilgrimage within ourselves. It may serve as a powerful problem-solving tool or a practice for spiritual growth.

Labyrinths are designed from sacred geometry and represent ancient archetypes dating back 4000 years or more. They come in different shapes and sizes and are located all over the World.

Walking the labyrinth:

  • As you stand at the approach to the labyrinth, stop and honor the tool you're about to use. Consider your intention.

  • Internally connect with your intention and allow it to permeate you in mind, body and spirit. Walking into the labyrinth represents going deeper into your own inner landscape. Listen with your heart as you mindfully step.

  • At the center of the labyrinth come into the wholeness of self and the stillness of the center. Open to your inner world to receive any guidance or inspiration about your intention.

  • As you journey out be open and listen to what is being offered to you.

  • When exiting the Labyrinth acknowledge the process and give thanks for your experience.

  • Reflect in silence on any insights that you have received and take this awareness into your life.

Church of the Transfiguration Labyrinth

Experience the Labyrinth with Infinite Alignment

During our 3 day Life Transformation and Healing Retreats we integrate an excursion to our local labyrinth located at the Church of the Transfiguration. The labyrinth is a replica of the 11-circuit Chartres labyrinth, laid in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France around 1220 A.D. (circuit describes the number of times the path circles around the center.). A stone-lined path leads with twists and turns to the center of the 54-foot wide circle. Surrounded by beautiful 60’ spruce trees, large pines in a meadow with the meandering Bear Creek beside it.

A Personal Experience

I enjoy walking the labyrinth in my bare feet as it allows me to deeply connect with our Mother Earth/Gaia. I set my intention or pose a question. As I step into the labyrinth it is like accessing an energy vortex where time and space do not exist. I experience Oneness, Wholeness and Divine Alignment. The energy is beautiful, crystal clear and as I mindfully walk I open myself to receive any messages. Sometimes I receive visions or words or even feelings/thoughts drop in from higher realms to support me. A precious gem is received and a sense of peace naturally arises that creates spaciousness and clarity within.
